Here’s a cool tool you can use to see for yourself. Simply scroll across the USA and see how each state measures up in terms of the rigorousness of its state test versus the nationalized test. Click the tab to select either the reading or math test scores, and keep in mind that these numbers are based on 2005, the most recent year for which results are available.
Are we creating easier state tests in order to make schools look more effective?
Hmmm. It appears so.
Kudos to South Carolina, Missouri, Maine and Massachusetts for keeping it real–their state tests are actually more rigourous than the national test.
